Danish Institute for Study Abroad, Copenhagen, DK Spring 2014
I took classes in food systems, photojournalism, art history, and environmental science. My core class, Environmental Science of the Arctic, studied climate change and spent a week in Greenland understanding the changes the climate is currently going through and has endured. Living in Copenhagen also allowed me to understand how different forms of sustainability permeate Danish society.
At Dickinson College, I majored in Environmental Science with a focus in sustainable food systems. Both inside and outside of the classroom I engaged in related work and academic opportunities.

Hampshire College, Amherst, MA Summer 2013
A six-week intensive program focused on environmental issues associated with food and agriculture in general. The program consisted of classes spanning topics of animal husbandry, soil health, fermentation, integrated pest management, and other topics. Each Friday the program also traveled to local farms or agricultural operations for field trips. Students were required to particiapted in daily farm chores on Hampshire's farm, working on both the vegetable and animal farms. To culminate the academic experience students were also required to write a final reserach paper on anything regarding sustainable food systems, for my paper I wrote a sustainable food purchasing guide for Dickinson College's Dining Services.
